I'll put together a lesson. The subject itself can be pretty vast, but I can got an overview together so you'll know how to be safe in regards to it, and have enough information to be able to do research on your own in the library if it interests you.

Now the very first point to make when it comes to things like this is your interest in it can vary widely. Some people are very into it. Some people have no interest at all.

However, its important to have a general idea of what it all entails because those who are wholly naive are rolling the dice to be taken advantage of. And unfortunately the odds are never in favor of the naive, its pure luck they get away unmarred without someone actively looking out for them.

That is correct. And at least in that aspect, things will be wholly accurate.

There will need to be a grain of salt when it comes to the biology. Now there is consistency of how biology works to at least a certain degree across many species back home, but there is a chance some stuff may be different for you. So if something sounds super wrong, ask about it, and we'll see if we can figure out what is actually true.

I've seen a lot of weird creatures so I think I'll stick to the ones that sound like they matter most as you talk.

Now, the first point of why sex is a thing for creatures in the first place.

[He clicks and a slide pops up.]

Sex is the means for species to reproduce. When a biological male and biological female have sex, there is a chance for a baby to be made, where it will gestate in the female for a varying amount of time, depending on species. Humans are consistent with about nine months.

Others.... [He handwaggles.]

So...babies come from sex? and pop out of our moms? I knew the stork isn't real but...

That is correct. That is the biological point of sex.

Babies can come out of dads, if they are biologically female, but yes, that's correct.

[A pause.] Usually. Some births are quite weird, I cannot say for certain that there hasn't been at least one baby born from a stork. Like Wukong was born from a rock.

A rock isn't as weird as all the babies in the world being delivered by storks like mail.

Wukong also isn't the weirdest birth, but those births are also fairly rarely. Nearly unique, so likely not terribly relevant for our discussion. If anything like those happen to you, there's not going to be much data to work with as is.

Fair. I was born a human and have a mom and dad...so I'm pretty sure I still work like that, I guess?

Most likely.

We'll be getting into some of the biology so hopefully that should at least clear things up.

[Next slide.] Are you familiar with the differences of biologically male and female?

But the difference for sex is about the penis and vagina. [Gestures to the new anatomical pictures.] Its a Tab A into Slot B sort of thing.

Are one of these pictures familiar to you? I just need a yes or no, because if its no, that will complicate things.

I have a penis, but no to the other one. Does that still complicate it?

No. Having one is fairly normal. There is a thing called intersex which can have both and that can be present even in non-shapeshifters, but its a small part of the population.

And then there are shapeshifters who can just decide to have whichever.

But the usual thing in nature is to have one.

Now, how reproductive sex works is the penis eventually is to go into the vagina.

[Another slide, pointing at the relevant parts as he talks.] The testes has the seed, or sperm, and when the penis is properly stimulated, it releases the seed into the female. The female has eggs, usually stored in the ovaries, which are here. But during hormone cycles, these eggs are released into the fallopian tubes and will come to rest in the uterus, where the seed can get to it and fertilize the egg.

If everything goes right, the baby will incubate to term and be born.
