Oh, it is very much that bad.

But there is a level of understanding with you that I don't get terribly often and that does wonders for making me calmer. [He pouts another glass and takes a long sip.] I don't need to put up any kind of guard or front and that just frees up...quite a lot of emotional energy.

Maybe you should introduce more people to Wukong, if struggling with him is all you need to have in common. He pisses people off easily enough.

Its not only that, though it is nice to not have to edit myself because even my social circle here, he's invaded. [MK was Wukong's first, BUT SAYA AND KANTERA WAS HIS FIRST DAMNIT.]

I honestly just need to meet more people now that I do have more free time.

[ Kantera is not YOURS by any stretch of the imagination sir, he only has one who he belongs to, get your shit straight. ]

You keep referencing not having had time. Some sort of aid. Do I get read in on things or what?

Someone had a health issue that was on a timer. I offered to fix it, and it was a difficult problem to solve. I managed to do it, but it was down to the wire.

[ Apparently he's on the outside looking in on that, but whatever, apparently it's not a thing anymore so that makes him less interested. ]

I'll bet that was gratifying, to fix someone up in a short timeframe. Especially if it was complicated.

[He's gonna respect Saya's privacy, sorry Macaque.]

Also wholly unexpected. I'm used to problems either being we die if it's not fixed right now, or eons of work.

Have you actually been alive for eons? [ That doesn't make sense, since his parents didn't meet until the attempted takeover of Heaven ] Or were you being hyperbolic.

No, only a handful of centuries, but it certainly feels like eons when you hyperfocus on a problem for centuries.

I'll take your word for it. [ Unless one counts dealing with the problem of a partner who can't keep himself focused, Macaque never had that experience. ]

What do you want to do to meet people, since you said it was the plan? Frequent places like this, perhaps?

Quests can be a way to meet people. And the network at times. But otherwise...I'm not sure how else one just meets people.

MK's great at it, tag along with him whenever he goes dashing around.

For the most part it's just show up places and talk to people. Or you could host a party or something. That restaurant would be a way, too.

It's not like you'd have trouble grabbing someone's attention unless they're blind.

True. Maybe I do just need to follow him around. And not get distracted by him. Which may be the harder part.

The thought of that many people in my house sounds unpleasant. Though I suppose there is renting out a place.

Its more actually connecting with someone. Not everyone reacts so well to the prickly attitude.

Get distracted, I say. Make a rule about not being able to touch each other as long as you're there and that you can't leave for a few hours, and drive each other mad. It's fun.

You'll be talking with people all too eagerly, just to pass the time quicker.

That might actually work. It is a lot easier to do things when there is a specific goal.

[And if the goal was to not go mad before the time limit...hm.]

It's almost like I have a whole lot of experience with this. [ Not that Wukong would ever do anything that required patience intentionally, but Macaque had his ways of driving home a point regardless. Besides, there were others. ]

Nothing gets someone motivated like rules. Use it. Get him to give you rewards for socializing, that sort of thing.

I'm rather certain some people deliberately go out of their way to break rules.

[A pause.]

But I do like guidelines. As long as I agree to them. [He will break all the laws, but when he decides on a 'rule,' he commits.]

Whatever semantics make you happy.

You'll get some socializing, MK will have a blast, then you can both have a blast together after.

[He snorts.] He would. Better watch it if you do decide to pursue him sexually.

He is a menace when he decides to be a flirt. He will just throw out some scandalous thing from out of nowhere.

[ A half laugh, half scoff ]

Have you met Wukong? Impulsivity is his middle name-- or used to be. He used to make a sport of seeing how flustered he could make me. Eventually I got good at not reacting.

Oh really? Well, now I'm curious what he'd pull.

[He pours the last of the Everclear, motioning for another bottle as he works on that glass.]

Whatever he could get away with. [ He knows that's not an answer, but-- ] I'm not sure I can get into details. Even the good memories are painful, y'know?

Fair enough. I may not be so curious when I'm not into two bottles of Everclear.

That knowledge has to be earned. You'll figure it out. Or more likely, MK will.

I enjoy putting on a show as much as watching one, by the way.
