Some demons are so high powered that their mate's power can range wildly just because the amount of threats are limited. And usually those who are that strong are too prideful to just kidnap for normal power struggles.

Spicy tarts? That's new.

Oh, it does. Aggression is a very complicated and regular part of demon culture. Or it was. Its started shifting in the modern day now that its more common to properly intermingle with humans.

Don't hurt yourself. I should tell you if your goal is to make something spicy for me, you'll need more than just ice cream.

Humans got really good at making guns and other such weapons and that was enough of an equalizer that lower tier demons, the majority of demons, couldn't throw their weight around quite so often. There is a lot more intermingling these days than in the past. A lot of demons are more domesticated, as it were.

There's always been quite a lot of 'dating' between humans and demons. A lot of love stories about such unions. However, there are a lot more stories of a pretty human getting kidnapped and needing to be rescued.

Good. Better to be sensible about such challenges.

My general distaste for guns aside, if all demons are that much stronger than humans ... that makes sense
I've gotten pretty lucky, probably -- 80% of my social circle at any given time could flatten me, but they're all really, really good at playing nice
