[ He pets through her hair and kisses the back of her head as she burrows. ]
I've been alive a long time, and I spent a not insignificant portion of it trying to get past a lot of Wukong-related things in some form or another. Before him, it was looking for cheap thrills. I wasn't terribly picky about who it was with or what shape they had. Not always emotionally fun, but it did gain me enough experience to have physical fun with.
[ But as he said that wasn't really about attraction, it was about working things out in the only way he could think to. It was about figuring out his attractions, more or less. ]
[ He knows fully well what she's talking about, but he needs a second to think though the haze. ]
I was holding a lot of myself back, I suppose. Sort of like someone flinching away from something painful, I was keeping my feelings locked down pretty tight so I didn't lose my mind. There's a lot of reasons I'm glad I got over Wukong, finally.
...Sorry if it was too much. [ It didn't feel like it was, but maybe that was the heat of the moment or something. ]
Getting emotions that directly is always a lot. Its less overwhelming than my other experience. [It was still A Lot, but less.]
But I suppose it is that flinching. I don't know how to react to those feelings, so they always make me feel like I'm drowning a bit. In a more positive way? [Analogies are hard when in an afterglow.]
Mm, I know what you mean. Not by way of telepathic connection, but overall. I'd say you get used to it, but my getting used to it was a very mixed blessing. [ Because he stopped being too infatuated for the cracks to show. ]
It'll be different for you. You have two people who love you and are willing to tell you so, probably three once you get there. Nothing I ever had. I'd imagine that sort of thing matters.
Probably? Its really my first foray into relationships, so I'm rather far in the deep end.
They're worth trying to figure it out, of course. So I hope it goes well, but it is mostly going blind.
Though now that you're able to move on, you might have better luck. Wukong is blinding, but there are other blinding people, if your standards are always for someone who stands out that much.
That is the hope. Which is good for MK too. [There's three blind people here, and Saya is the only one who isn't in the string.]
You will. There will be someone with enough sense too. [She sighs, shifting against him.] They'll be lucky too. Your affection feels nice, I can only imagine how the full force of your feelings would be.
[ Macaque peels away enough to nock her chin up so she'll look at him, then he gives her a kiss. Soft and sweet and lazy in a way that he can't really say what's behind it, other than it feels nice and he can't think of a reason to hold that back anymore. ]
I'm fond of you too, Red.
[ He's not quite sure what he deserves, but that's hardly the point. ]
[ He chuckles, warm and rumbling, as his nose brushes against hers. ]
Don't spread it around. It's not like I do this with just anyone. [ He trusts her enough to be a mushy, somewhat needy thing, to let his soft side peek out through the protective carapace. ]
[ He doesn't think she'd tell just random whoever, he sort of worries she'll tell MK. And then he'll have a pouty monkey on his hands, because MK has to be the most important to everyone or he wonders what he's lacking (and even if he is the most important, he wonders). Macaque doesn't especially feel like justifying why he feels closer to Red Son since a lot of why is stuff that he and MK can't or don't really discuss, which is precisely the point, but "there's things I can't tell you" just sounds bad no matter how true or non-insulting it's meant to be. ]
Mm, I didn't think you would. Just habit to make sure I'm keeping this side of me more or less under wraps.
I know. But do not fret. I'm far more likely to talk about you shoving me to my knees and fucking me until I cried than you being soft. [Murmured against his shoulder, nuzzling and kissing along the line of his fur.]
[Which included MK. When it came to Macaque's softer emotions, he kept it vague. Macaque cared about MK and that's all Red Son felt the need to confirm. Enough to reassure without setting up expectations of how that will manifest.]
[How Macaque might wreck MK in the future was another matter entirely.]
[ He does care about MK, it's just, like he keeps saying, complicated. Not having romantic feelings for Wukong anymore (right now) doesn't uncomplicate it all that much, sadly. This here is simpler, and easier, and MK would hate hearing that or believing that, even though it's no failing of his and just how the card happened to fall. ]
[ A huff of amusement, followed by a slight shiver at the attentions paid where fur meets skin. ] Next time I'll do it without any magic necessary. [ She probably knows better than to doubt him by now. ]
[She shivers at the thought. Fingers slowly carding through fur as she lazily nuzzles him.] Hm, that would be fun. [She definitely knows better than to doubt.]
[ A little sound at the way her finger feel through his fur, not loud enough to be a groan or long enough to be a purr, but somewhere in that register. He hasn't been groomed in so, so long, and he misses it, but he's never found anyone he trusts enough other than Wukong. ]
[ His eyes fall shut and Macaque begins fully purring, leaning emphatically into her hands. He doesn't even bother to reply in favor of soaking in the contact. ]
[ Despite not having been groomed in that long, his fur is soft and very well maintained. It's the bonding aspect he really missed, though he can't deny that physically it also feels damn good. He should let MK do it more often, just... complicated, again. ]
[MK is a ball of complications. Red Son doesn't mind. Its soothing to do, honestly. Especially with his fur so soft. She keeps her hand moving, down along his side, taking care of any tangles their activities incurred.]
[Its a few minutes before she speaks.] Want to turn around for me to do it more properly?
Winging it, mostly. I did a little with the Weremonkey. Haven't pinned down MK for it yet. I wasn't sure how comfortable he'd be with it.
[She moves her hands along his back, up the back of his neck, through his hair, and back down again, before slowly picking her way through his fur. More gentle brushing and picking away knots and any stray lint or some such from the day or clothes.]
I used to play with father's fur as a child. It may not be as instinctual, but things still feel nice.
I think he'd like it. He tries it with me at any opportunity. [ Which is a little awkward, but not the end of the world. ]
[ Macaque's purring swells and ebbs slightly as Red Son pets through his fur. ]
I don't usually let him, aside from briefly with weremonkey and once when I was drugged. It feels a little... [ he gives up before settling on a word. "Intimate" is the closest, but would that be odd to say while he's letting Red Son do it? He doesn't want her to stop and he's nervous that word would do it. ]

I don't need blinding. Someone who sees me would be enough.

You will. There will be someone with enough sense too. [She sighs, shifting against him.] They'll be lucky too. Your affection feels nice, I can only imagine how the full force of your feelings would be.

I'm not worried about it. It'd be nice if it happened, maybe really nice, but that would be a bonus on top of actually being happy for once.
no subject
But happy is good.
[AS WEIRD AS IT IS.]

You really are surprisingly affectionate.
