Night Sky sighed with relief. Not that she doubted for a second that Red Son could it - but for a moment she worried she had royally fucked up because she hadn't accounted for his fire. She was so used to it just... not being an issue.
"Gods. I'm so glad you're a genius." She laughed. "...Do you like it?"
"Its a beautiful piece," he said. And he's going to wear it a lot which is, well, the easiest way for him to show approval. Words are a difficult thing for him to figure out.
He knows communication is important, but its still a struggle in many ways.
He leans against her as he works on carving the circle.
Between the compliment and the way he leaned into her, that was as much an answer from Red Son as she suspected she would get - maybe even more so.
"Thanks. I carved it myself." She said, leaning into him in turn with her head gently resting on his shoulder, careful not to disturb him while she watched him for. For now, she just kept quiet, enjoying the familiar heat that radiated off him.
"I thought as much. A limited and sacred resource does not usually sell jewelry made from it as a common practice," he said, carefully carving out the markings.
She chuckled. "Yeah, I requested a very small piece of it. Usually it's just bows for the Sylvan Rangers that are made with the wood, but I figured no one would blame me for crafting things for people I care about." It was an insignificant portion, in the grand scheme of things, and it was, so far as she could tell, authentic, too. "I was going to make a little wooden flame, but I wanted you to think of me when you looked at it." So a leaf it was.
Red Son is pretty sure many would blame her because many have people they care about and would like to make special things for, but he will politely not point that out. He's not against doing things selfishly.
"It takes it stand out more. Gifts for relationships should be like that. A mix of what suits the person, and what makes a claim on a person," he said.
Well, the tree would forgive her. She was sure of that much, otherwise she wouldn't have done it.
Night Sky hummed and propped her chin on his shoulder so she could ghost her lips over his ear. "I do like staking my claim on you, any way that I can." She purred.
He squeezes her hand and is going to lead her to a corner, where there's a bush. Then he ducks down, pulling a rope from the branches, letting her see it. Then tugging on it to reveal a hatch that leads into the ground. "I got a castle expansion."
Red Son leads her down the stairs and into the room. Night Sky will get to hear the water first. A gentle flowing of a small waterfall.
He leads her further in, and gently pushes her to sit down on something soft. "Okay, you can open your eyes," he said.
The room will look like an underground cave. The walls are natural stone, all solid, and without actual dirt spilling in. The next is the lights, a string of white fairy lights, painstakingly made, but giving a soft, gentle glow to the room.
There are an assortment of mushrooms growing in pots around the room, and hanging from the ceiling, to give the room plant life with the plant of sun. There is a pond in the corner of the room, big enough to perhaps use as a bath. Or perhaps a fish pond. With a small waterfall that feeds into it. Though there is also a stone switch nearby to block off the water so she doesn't have to listen to it all the time.
Night Sky is currently sitting on a bed, at least a King Size (honestly even bigger than that), piled with comfortable blankets and pillows in shades of green and brown and flower detailing. There was also a couch against a wall, long and covered in nature detailing, and a bear skin rug on the floor.
Her brows furrowed, eyes still shut. The trickling of water was not what she expecting when descending into an underground passage. Then she was sitting, and her eyes slowly peeked open.
For a moment, all she could do was stare slackjawed at the meticulously decorated cavern that undoubtedly had her in mind when it was crafted. Her eyes flitted to the lights, the pond, the bed she sat on as her palms pressed to the blankets and she turned to get a full look at it and the couch both.
Then, she looked up to Red Son, her eyes shimmering with tears. "You - you got this for me?"
"Unfortunately I had to rely on a wish to make the space, there was no way to hide making it otherwise," he said, scanning the room, to make sure he didn't miss anything. "And the linens I had to buy." He's not the best at sewing, but he has high standards for what he buys.
"But the rest I was able to make myself." He turned to look at her. "This way you can still feel like you're in nature when it's cold."
Red Son could have dumped her in the room with a chair and the shittiest bed ever and she still would have been awed by the fact that he did it all for her. That he made everything else inside it made her want to sob. But she swallowed the feeling back.
"It's amazing. You're amazing." She said, reaching a hand out for him. "Come here and let me thank you properly." If and when he did grab her hand though, Night Sky would shift her weight quickly, leg hooking around his to press into him and turn them both so she could pin him to the bed.
Red Son would NEVER. If he wasn't half treating her like a princess with his gifts, he would have to judge the hell out of himself. There's no point in giving gifts if there isn't SOME effort in making sure its quality.
He does blush at the compliment, but he looks quite pleased at the reaction. Moving over to take her hand.
And then yelp as he's tugged and pushed to the bed. And the minor blush was now a very stark and vibrant blush as he looked up at her. "Oh. This kind of thank you."
Several candles have also lit up around the room, placed in safe places for them to burn, and where the air flow would keep the smoke from building.
Because he was very aware this kind of thank you was probably in the cards and he was prepared.
Night Sky should not have found as much joy as she did in having Red Son yelp when she grabbed him. But she was practically giddy with delight that he did so.
"Unless you don't want this kind of thank you, of course." She assumed his reaction would not have been so calm otherwise though. She leaned down to kiss his forehead, fingertips loosening around his wrists so slowly forming vines could coil around them instead - fitting like bracelets for now, and not yet connecting, on the chance he truly did not wish for this to continue. She sat, straddling his hips.
He feels the vines wrapping around his wrists, the candlelight flaring up. He looked up at the vines and looked back to Night Sky. "I....I don't mind this kind of thank you," he said, face a vibrant red. He glanced up at the vines and to her again, swallowing. "I may have to burn them away suddenly." A warning. In case he does have to. But he's not doing it now.
"Did we ever come up with a safe word? Something we need to shout in case we want the other person to stop. I usually go with cinnamon." She said, very gingerly easing his wrists closer together. "Burn away, too, whatever you need to do, love."

"...No you didn't." No he did not get a castle expansion out in the middle of the yard. "All the way out here?"
