Red Son would argue her standards for sweet were probably too low. He had started off being a kind of haughty bitch.
But then again, he also meant what he did. Red Son doesn't break his promises, even implied ones.
"My sleep schedule is usually better," he said, stepping away to go and pick up his tools again to get back to installing the ventilation. "I just don't like falling behind and we already have a few commissions on the docket. I don't want to keep some of our first customers waiting overly long. That's just bad service."
Making her a custom bracelet, promising to keep his own matching bracelet safe, and doing it all so she had 'someone who knew her' no matter what? Call that sweet enough to rot teeth.
Night Sky, still giddy and spinning the bracelet around her wrist, chuckled. "Usually, he says." A touch of a tease- a silent vow to fix that even if she had to hound him until he took a damn nap. She could be persistent - as he was well learning already. "I might have a commission for you, when your workload isn't so intense."
"It is! I usually get at least four hours, but I try for six or seven," he said. He didn't need to sleep AS MUCH as mortals, but it did do him better to do so.
"If you don't mind waiting for it, you can tell me now. Then I know to look out for any potential material when we go looking for it," he said. Which really may be the longest part. Actually getting the supplies.
Night Sky shook her head. She wouldn't argue about it further right then - but she would definitely keep an eye out to see if he actually slept ever. How difficult would it be for him to let her into his room...
"Oh, no rush. I'm not exactly a warrior by any means - I usually just run away from things or lure them into traps if I have to - but I like to have a staff on hand just in case. They're really just big sticks I shaped a little. A metal one might do me well if anything crazy happens here, though. Uh. Made of something besides iron. Preferably."
He nods. "That shouldn't be difficult to do. Brass should do for an adequate staff. I can also make it collapsible if you wish, then its easier to carry around or hide if need be," Red Son said,
"That's... not a terrible idea." She said after a brief pause. A collapsible staff had never exactly been in the cards for her back home. "I'll save up the shards for whenever you can get to it. Shouldn't be too difficult." People, apparently, wanted to pay her for drugs anyway.
"Take me on another date and that'll pay for it," he said instead. Because, well, part of the courting game was it eventually going both ways and since he's kind of already given something of a courting gift, he might as well be playing the game.
At least a collapsible staff was simple enough, and he knew how to not sacrifice integrity.
She blinked, paused, and then smiled brightly. "I can do that." She had hoped to take him out again anyway, but hey - she wouldn't turn down a perk like that. "You'll have to tell me where you want to go - or. I can scope some places out. Vaeros seems into romantic gestures, there has to be something."
"You can scope something out. I would not recommend a walk along the beach though," Red Son said. "The ocean and I have never gotten along, so I try to not go there without a specific reason. You'd need to have quite the sight to make up for it."
Night Sky frowned. "Aww. That's where I found that stone..." alas. The last thing she wanted was for something terrible to happen on the beach during their date. "Nothing water-related until I can make the most magical beach date ever for you, got it. Hmm. I haven't fully explored the woods, so there might be something there. Are you scared of heights?"
"The downsides of elementals. Just as I imagine I shouldn't take you to a volcano for a date, even though the lighting can be quite beautiful," he said with some amusement.
"Water isn't terrible. It doesn't hurt me, but yes, a swim isn't exactly my first choice." Gotta make up quite the difference to be enjoyable. "And no, I'm not scared of heights at all."
"I mean... I'm already playing with fire. I wouldn't say no to seeing it, so long as you promised to catch me if I started to fall in or something." It would absolutely be too hot and dangerous for her to handle, but Night Sky was nothing if not willing to accept the challenge regardless.
She nodded. "There's a mountain I haven't explored yet. Maybe the view up there is nice enough for us."
"The ambient heat would dry you out like a raisin," Red Son pointed out. "You don't need to be in lava for it to set you on fire, especially if your moisture content isn't as high as a meatier creature."
"A mountain hike could be nice." The biggest challenge would be him not getting distracted if he saw an interesting vein, but he can deal with that.
"You'll need to be rather soaked," Red Son said. As the suggestiveness goes right over his head. So that whole is actually a virgin thing. Sometimes these things just go over his head.
"There should be time next week. Plan evening. That's when I let the apprentices go."
There is a pause. "...that would not be remiss," he said. "Days can kind of blend together and there is enough of a rush that its hard to use it to differentiate."
She laughed. "You should know it's even more dangerous to openly invite a fae into your life." She was teasing. Night Sky was not born a fae and did not adhere to such odd pastimes. It was funny though. "Going to be stuck with me forever now."
"That seems to be what usually happens when I allow people into my life. Dragon Girls, Noodle Boys, and now Dryads," he said with a huff. "I am becoming used to it."
"Oh, almost definitely," Red Son said. "They are quite...energetic. Often its better to just let myself be dragged along because trying to rein them in is impossible."
"The more you talk about them, the more I want to meet them." She laughed. "I think that's the worst part about being pulled into realms like this... sometimes you don't get to see any familiar faces. Not that I would, I guess, unless time shenanigans happened."
"Time travel is not an impossible thing," Red Son said. "Time between this dimension and others are not linear. Though honestly I would not be surprised if they showed up. They once got lost in the middle of a massive desert and they happened to collapse right where I do test drives."

Because of course he thinks of how to improve it.

She smiled. "Great! I'll plan for it for... uh. Next week? After that?" How long was he going to take with the castle was the question.

"Okay. I'll make sure to come and remind you the closer that time comes. I can't have you standing me up to make a sword or something."

He huffed. "I know the dangers of such invitations. The Dragon Girl has done it plenty of times."
