I am rather certain Lady Bone Demon got to him, did get me, I thought I was Guanyin's disciple part of the night, and of course I couldn't find MK.

So it was largely a joke about being a bad Buddhist that quickly went downhill and we both decided rather quickly on the distraction.

Also I don't know if you've seen Macaque, but he is very hot. He'd do very well at your bar.

The thought it'd bug Wukong didn't come up until I was pinned to the wall, but Macaque can make his own decisions and Wukong has no official claim anyway.

I saw him in a memory. At the beach. [ So yeah, pretty hot. Alas she has to stick him in the "this would hurt someone I adore" column, though as Red Son knows, the column status is forever in flux. ~~Were it not for Circumstances she absolutely would~~ ]

We do. We do also just have a far bit in common and know broad strokes of history. So easy to get to understandings.

Just don't feed into each other about Wukong, it won't help anything. I know how these things snowball.

Your opinion is that Macaque wants to get back together with Wukong as much as Wukong wants it, I assume? Just making certain, the last thing I want is to set Wukong up for heartbreak.

We're not. If anything, it might be a proper vent.

Let me put it this way.

Even if Macaque would make the absolute perfect boyfriend and I was madly in love with him, I would say no to any romantic overture based purely on how not over Wukong he is.

I can't argue with venting.

Honestly, Wukong is eminently reasonable with me. You'd probably be surprised. I'll figure it out.

Hm, and without having to bad mouth him to his potential friends. [Or deal with someone invested in defending him. Which honestly may make it easier to admit his good points.]

Maybe. He may not want to complain about Macaque to Noodle Boy. You being more impartial may make it easier.

Just be ready for him to not be reasonable. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best situation.

I'm not impartial in the slightest. I just know how to have a conversation without letting my own stuff get everywhere. Most of the time.

...Okay, you'd better tell me about MK and Macaque so I know what I'm getting into, and what to avoid.

Macaque would be the second villain Noodle Boy turned around. How and why, I don't know, but the first time I saw Macaque this century, it was real clear real fast he was in the 'if Noodle Boy asks, I'm not going to say no' camp with me.

And that was when the last time they saw each other, he was still under the Lady Bone Demon's....influence. I don't think he was exactly willing, but I don't know why he was working under her. [He saw him excited at the fire burning away the ice, so clearly there were Reservations of some sort.]

Macaque wants to be convinced. He puts up walks and barriers, but he knows Noodle Boy can convince him so he waits until he does.

[ Classing people as "heroes" and "villains" gives her a splitting headache. Also Katsuki feels. But moving past that. ]

So it sounds like he and Wukong are both waiting for the other to bend a little. That's a rough time for everyone. Including all the collateral damage.

Maybe if they could be convinced it was hurting MK, or how much, they'd be more willing to figure things out.

I am rather certain their ability to even be around each other is born purely from that not wanting to hurt MK point. I know it bothers Wukong that MK cares about Macaque as is, but he lets him continue. I'm not sure much more can happen from solely that point.

And it is a problem of their inability to bend. Neither wants to do it first, for sure. Macaque, I believe, would bend if he thought Wukong would.

But Wukong....

He isn't much for bending.

Yes, he is. It just takes a gentle hand. [ She's not being accusatory here, she knows Red Son doesn't have that in him most of the time and she doesn't expect it. ]

He and I had our struggles and worked through them. It's very possible. Especially since they love each other.

I respect where you are with it, it's born of experience and personal knowledge, but also bias.
Let me at least start from a position of optimism rather than defeatism.

MK was still pretty upset. I get it, I assumed the worst until you told me about the costume possession. My head was pretty much a mess since the masque thanks to the dreams and Venti, but I should have known those couldn't be things MK would really say to me. It should have clicked, and it didn't.

Maybe I was too invested in having something to be angry about that wasn't all the people I killed or the losses I suffered that there's no undoing, I don't know.

We'll be fine, we can rebuild things I think, but it's different now... and I didn't really get the most out of the time I was supposed to be thinking and dealing with it all because of all the grief stuff. And Haji wasn't in any of my dreams. It's like he doesn't want to find me here or something. That really messed me up.

The thing with Wukong got added to the pile, but again, at least that's something actionable. So it's not as bad as it could be.

Dreams? Do you know why you're having dreams? [He didn't have any lanterns to light.]

...if the dreams are supposed to be contact...that isn't a very precise magic. It can be very hard to make contact through them.

Wukong is actionable. If I could just find out what he's working on, I should have a sample in my lab. We raided the lab pretty thoroughly.
