I can do a claymore easily enough. I'll make some sketches and you can tell me what one is close and we can figure out the details.
[Why specify the readi-oh, right, that's become more common place the last century.] I do need leather, but also help gathering the raw materials. How familiar are you with minerals?
I'll need to refill my stores soon. You can come with me the day after tomorrow for gathering as the first part of the payment. You should come by the shop today or tomorrow so I can be sure the design of the blade suits you and figure out exactly how much help I'll need to pay for it.
[ It's not too hard, thankfully. Someone shows him the right direction after he's asked around a little, and then Razor knocks on the door.
He really doesn't know what to expect, as he's not exactly seen a sword been made before - Varka gave him his first one and the Traveler the other ones, but he knows the clang-clang of metalwork. ]
[The Flame and Claw is, well, a forge and blacksmithy. And while it is like seventy percent what one would expect for the fantasy time period, Red Son has made improvements over time, between Wishes and his own hand.]
[Proper ventilation fans, for one.]
[Tools and machines to help make some of the finer work easier.]
[But some things do have to be done by hand, and between Red Son's fireproof nature and strength beyond his smaller frame, he's good at it. There is clanging, and the roar of fire, only dying down as he hears the bell to the shop.]
[He looks up from the molten metal.] Ah, a customer! One moment!
[ Razor waits patiently at he hears the voice, glancing around slightly as he does. It's a little bit like Wagner's and a lot not like it, but it definitely says blacksmith to him.
When Red Son comes to meet him, he'll find a scarred teen with long wild gray hair and mismatched clothes, wearing some carved bone jewelry. Definitely a wild child. ]
[ He didn't even realize he didn't give his name. Then again, he's very much not used to these network things. ]
I said I will work for a steel claw. You wanted me to come to design a big sword.
[ He gestures to about his own height. ]
I can use any kind, as long as it is big like me. Heavy. Big edge.
[ A smaller sword doesn't have the heft he needs for his battle style... which is generally just heaving that big thing in massive swings until he almost falls over, but nobody said it's a finesse weapon. ]
[Red Son nods, pulling out a notepad from under the counter.]
[A large sword doesn't really sound off to him. His mother's weapon is as big as her, and even if MK's weapon changes size, it always weighs literal tons.]
[Sometimes fighting is about throwing yourself around on momentum.]
I do have a couple of other sample designs, but its best to have something suited to you. Heavy and big might sound enough, but you never know when you start actually looking at options.
[He flips open the pad and there are sword designs. Some are basic, stuff he would just put on the self for easy buying, but there are others with more ornate designs. Curved and hooked blades, fire and bull themed accents, things like that.]
I can also give you a more basic weapon until you can pay for this. I offer a free simple weapon for first time dreamers, as well as a kitchen set, but this I have to charge for because its a lot of metal going in.
[ Razor curiously looks at the designs, nodding a bit at Red Son as the man tells him about looking at options. He's never really had options - his first claymore was from the man who introduced him to society, and the other ones came from the MC a good, strong lupical. ]
I do not know how to use smaller weapons.
[ He admits, shaking his head a little. ]
All it needs is being strong and big. I'll work for you.
[He raises an eyebrow at that.] You don't? Even for normal hunting? [He could get for an actual challenging fight, but using only a big weapon for a hunt isn't exactly ideal.]
Right, right. Well, I need to replenish my store of ores, so I'll be going to my supply spots tomorrow. Its a lot of digging and moving. I can teleport a cart, but I can't get the rocks out other than by tools.
[ He sounds a little bit uncertain, not sure how to explain. ]
Lupical hunt for me when small. Did not need sword. When older, leader tell me to use logs or my own fangs and claws. Then I met the strongest human, and he showed me a steel claw.
Lupical.. is family. Like pack. Like human friends.
[ The idea that Varka wasn't a great teacher rubs him the wrong way, though, and he bares those little human teeth like a wolf. ]
He is a very good teacher! He taught me that I'm human. He said small blades are not good for my strength. I have been using them for... um... five winters? Four?
[VOICE] un:razor
Hello. You make things?
Re: [VOICE] un:razor
Why yes, I do. I am the head artisan of the Flame and Claw. What are you looking to have made?
no subject
Oh. I had a Steel Claw. A sword. It didn't come here. I need a new one. As tall as me.
[ Pardon his somewhat stilted speaking, it's hard for the wild child. ]
I have no mora, but I can hunt for you.

Bartering is acceptable. What other skills do you have?
no subject
[ He has no idea how to explain it, really. ]
Any big sword. Steel Claw. Word is... claymore? Yes. That. One or two edge, doesn't matter.
[ Bartering is acceptable? Razor gives it a bit of a thought. ]
I can hunt. Track. Protect. I can carry things. Help to do labor. [ Pause. ] I cannot read or write things. Anything else, I can try.

[ It doesn't matter too much what it looks like, as long as it has the heft and sharpness he needs. ]
I will get leather. Deer? Rabbit? Monster?
[ As for minerals? ]
I know iron smell. Like blood. Sometimes I break rocks for the Traveler, but my Vision isn't working here... so I can't.

I may also have you come help me haul out minerals when I have to go mining.

[ Monster leather without a sword might be a tall order, but he's a good hunter. ]
I can carry for you. I'll help.

[ Very eager, this little wolf. Maybe he feels a bit naked without fangs. ]

[Have a location in Somnious as a castle.]
Not the main entrance. You'll see a sign by a door leading down into the basement. That's where the forge is.
Handwave or log?
I'm good with either! Razor can either just deal with Customer Service Red Son or might get Real Red

Hello. I am Razor.

[Honestly not the first wild child he's met.]
[....he was also living fairly isolated on a mountain for some years in his youth, so these things happen.]
[Red Son sets his work aside where it won't set fire to anything and approaches.]
Welcome to the Flame and Claw, Razor. Were you the one I spoke with earlier?

....well, strength doesn't always mean a good teacher. Generally you work up to heavier blades. It helps adaptability and strain on the body.
How long have you been using Steel Claws?
