[ He didn't even realize he didn't give his name. Then again, he's very much not used to these network things. ]
I said I will work for a steel claw. You wanted me to come to design a big sword.
[ He gestures to about his own height. ]
I can use any kind, as long as it is big like me. Heavy. Big edge.
[ A smaller sword doesn't have the heft he needs for his battle style... which is generally just heaving that big thing in massive swings until he almost falls over, but nobody said it's a finesse weapon. ]
[Red Son nods, pulling out a notepad from under the counter.]
[A large sword doesn't really sound off to him. His mother's weapon is as big as her, and even if MK's weapon changes size, it always weighs literal tons.]
[Sometimes fighting is about throwing yourself around on momentum.]
I do have a couple of other sample designs, but its best to have something suited to you. Heavy and big might sound enough, but you never know when you start actually looking at options.
[He flips open the pad and there are sword designs. Some are basic, stuff he would just put on the self for easy buying, but there are others with more ornate designs. Curved and hooked blades, fire and bull themed accents, things like that.]
I can also give you a more basic weapon until you can pay for this. I offer a free simple weapon for first time dreamers, as well as a kitchen set, but this I have to charge for because its a lot of metal going in.
[ Razor curiously looks at the designs, nodding a bit at Red Son as the man tells him about looking at options. He's never really had options - his first claymore was from the man who introduced him to society, and the other ones came from the MC a good, strong lupical. ]
I do not know how to use smaller weapons.
[ He admits, shaking his head a little. ]
All it needs is being strong and big. I'll work for you.
[He raises an eyebrow at that.] You don't? Even for normal hunting? [He could get for an actual challenging fight, but using only a big weapon for a hunt isn't exactly ideal.]
Right, right. Well, I need to replenish my store of ores, so I'll be going to my supply spots tomorrow. Its a lot of digging and moving. I can teleport a cart, but I can't get the rocks out other than by tools.
[ He sounds a little bit uncertain, not sure how to explain. ]
Lupical hunt for me when small. Did not need sword. When older, leader tell me to use logs or my own fangs and claws. Then I met the strongest human, and he showed me a steel claw.
Lupical.. is family. Like pack. Like human friends.
[ The idea that Varka wasn't a great teacher rubs him the wrong way, though, and he bares those little human teeth like a wolf. ]
He is a very good teacher! He taught me that I'm human. He said small blades are not good for my strength. I have been using them for... um... five winters? Four?
Ah, so you were raised with another species. I understand pack.
[He sees the teeth and he bares his own in warning. He normally has sharper fangs, but they had shifted to be even more prominently sharp.]
[Demon instincts are a powerful thing, so while its not a challenge, it is a warning all the same about a potential fight.]
Teachers should be more thorough. He wasn't incompetent, evident by the fact you're not dead, but if the student is one who fights often, having the ability to know how to use a more easily replaced weapon would be the wise thing to do.
[ The desire to protect Varka's name is still there, but Razor isn't a dominant wolf outside of protecting his lupical, so he backs down and lowers his gaze. ]
He had to leave. Miss Lisa taught me speak, but she does not fight with metal. Only magic.
In my home, big steel claws are easy to find. Smith always sells, and the Traveler brings me new ones to try.
Ah, I suppose short of time is a decent enough excuse. Still, it would be wise to train with smaller weapons.
They don't have to be your primary, but it would help in more unexpected situations.
Such as... [He gestures around them.] Everything is easier in normal circumstances. Even this place, the Somnius blacksmith had jacked up the prices and wasn't much for haggling.

[Honestly not the first wild child he's met.]
[....he was also living fairly isolated on a mountain for some years in his youth, so these things happen.]
[Red Son sets his work aside where it won't set fire to anything and approaches.]
Welcome to the Flame and Claw, Razor. Were you the one I spoke with earlier?

....well, strength doesn't always mean a good teacher. Generally you work up to heavier blades. It helps adaptability and strain on the body.
How long have you been using Steel Claws?

[ That's honestly a problem with this kid, he hits rocks with weapons. ]
Is that why you do it now?
